John Simpson

JOHN T. SIMPSON, born July 7, 1926, in North Little Rock to the late John T. and Gweneth Simpson, passed peacefully in his home Feb.14, 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Veta, and his son David. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Jan Diederich (Joe) of Fayetteville; Gay Missal (Bob) of Perryville; and Rebecca Simpson (Bob) of Jacksonville; as well as eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two precious companion Yorkies. John was an extremely active charter member of Park Hill Christian Church. He was an Architectural Engineer by profession and also enjoyed archeology, anthropology, writing, painting, and collecting. One of his greatest accomplishments was building a miniature replica of the Chism House. He was also a WWII Navy Veteran. Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home (7724 Landers Rd, North Little Rock) followed by a funeral service on Monday, Feb., 18, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
