Roxie Kirkes Peterson, 92, was born February 25, 1920 in Van Buren, Arkansas, the only daughter of Otto and Mary Bodine Kirkes. She had 5 brothers who served in World War II. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Milton Peterson, Sr. and a daughter, Donna Peterson Hopkins. They were active members of Immanuel Baptist Church for many years. She was a charter member of the Junior Civic League of Fayetteville. Roxie enjoyed travel, gardening, sewing, and caring for her family. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Peterson Martin of Perryville, Arkansas and her son, Roy Peterson Jr. of Little Rock, grandsons Glenn Peterson of Omaha, Nebraska, James Pratt of Osaka, Japan, Jack Peterson of Little Rock, granddaughter Lillie Marie Peterson of Little Rock, and great-grandchildren Collin Hausman of Omaha and Elizabeth Roxie Pratt of Osaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Arkansas, 1504 Dr Martin Luther King Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72202. Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. at Roller Chenal Funeral Home. (13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211.) Funeral Services will be Monday, February 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Roller Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Ray Higgins officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
