Emma Sue Rayner Hopper

Emma Sue Rayner Hopper of McCrory died on February 23rd, at the Morrilton Health Care Center. She was 93 years of age. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 followed by the services all at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in McCrory. Brother Matt Clifton, minster of the McCrory Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodman Cemetery. Mrs. Hopper was born September 24, 1919 in the Tipp Community of Woodruff County, the daughter of the late John Rayner and Lillie Mae Stewart Rayner who were early residents of the Rayner Grove Community. Mrs. Hopper lived most of her life in the McCrory area but due to failing health, had moved to Morrilton five years ago to be near a niece and nephew. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hopper, and two brothers, Lawrence "Cap" Rayner and George Rayner, and four sisters, Retha McCommons, Mattie Parsons, Velma Walker and Nannie Penn Lamberson. The family requests that memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity.
