Richard W. Hall, 76, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born August 30, 1936 in Pine Bluff, son of Henry W. "Bill" Hall and Armoree Holland Hall. Mr. Hall was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1954. After high school, he served in the United States Army. He worked for Little Rock Wholesale for several years before opening Hall Paper Company with his wife, Mary Lee. They owned and operated Hall Paper Company for 37 years, retiring in 2008. Also, Mr. Hall installed and maintained sprinkler systems. Mr. Hall was very active in the Jefferson County Community. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Hall served on the Jefferson County Quorum Court from 1996-2006. He was a charter member of the Pine Bluff Chamber Singers, charter member of Bluff City Duck Club and past president of Pine Bluff Evening Lions Club. Mr. Hall also enjoyed performing at the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas. His favorite role was Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks in the musical, "Annie". He loved people and never met a stranger. Mr. Hall called everybody "Troop". He also loved the Razorbacks. Mr. Hall could be found tailgating regularly at the Little Rock football games. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Hall. Survivors include wife, Mary Lee Parham Hall, whom he married June 29, 1958 in Pine Bluff; two sons, Keith Hall and his wife, Holly, of Little Rock and Brad Hall of Atlanta, Georgia; grandson, Hunter Hall; sister, Frances Hall of Sulphur Springs; Turkish exchange daughter, Selin Istanbullu of St. Petersburg, Russia; three sisters-in-law, Janet Taylor and her husband, John, of Pine Bluff, Margaret Erwin of Little Rock and Jane Hall of White Hall; and several special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1501 West 2nd Avenue in Pine Bluff, with Reverend Warner Worthan officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Robinson's. The family will be at the Hall residence in Pine Bluff.
