Grace Howard

Grace Naomi (Jean) Wilkerson Howard, age 85, born May 4, 1927 in Gould, Ark., passed from this world Dec. 31, 2012. She was the daughter of A.J. and Grace Wilkerson and was raised by her precious aunt and uncle, Will and Momma Matt Smith. She was preceded in death by both sets of parents; her beloved husband of 48 years, H.B. (Buck) Howard; a son, John Harold Howard (Dee); one brother; one sister and many step-brothers and step-sisters. She is survived by one son, Clarence Howard (Arnette); three daughters, Bennie Corrigan (Carroll), Connie Detherage (Tom), Netha Howard; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was a great ambassador for Jesus Christ having served as a Sunday School teacher for 47 years, weekly community visitations, and church bus chaperon. She loved doing ceramics, playing softball, watching all her children & grandchildren play sports, fishing and hunting. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Huson Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 3 p.m. at East End Baptist Church and internment at Salem Cemetery.
