Aaron Storer Condon, age 85, of Oxford, Mississippi, died on January 1, 2013, following complications resulting from injuries suffered in a car accident on December 29, 2012. Born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on April 23, 1927, he attended the University of Alabama where he was Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He was an officer in the U.S. Army, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He continued serving in the Army's Judge Advocate General Corps as a reserve officer, retiring after having reached the rank of Colonel. In the early 1960's he practiced law in Kosciusko, serving as Attala County Attorney. He also was active in the civil rights movement, working to advance the cause of integration. In 1966 he began a long-term teaching career at the University of Mississippi School of Law, where he was feared and revered by hundreds of law students over the years. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lillene Williams Condon of Oxford; daughter Carol Epes of Jensen Beach, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Ron Hughes and granddaughters Alexis and Haley Hughes, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; his beloved canine companion Lili; and friends and relations too numerous to count. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, at the Oxford-University United Methodist Church in Oxford, followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, January 7, in the Columbarium of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Little Rock.
