Loreda Denton

Loreda Denton, age 100, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Arkadelphia. She was born November 29, 1912 in Gurdon, Ark. the daughter of the late Samuel and Flora Webb Doss. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Murfreesboro where she taught Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Denton was a substitute teacher in the Delight School system for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster A. Denton; a daughter, Janice McCormick; a brother, Robert Doss and a sister, Ruth Evans. Survivors include one son James B. Denton and his wife Sherilyn of Arkadelphia, one son-in-law, Richard McCormick of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one sister, Geneva Walker of Delight; three grandchildren, Jana Chandler of Arkadelphia, David McCormick of Broomfield, Colo., Christy Apodaca of Colorado Springs, Colo. three great grandchildren, Sidney Chandler of Arkadelphia, Rachel McCormick and Ryan McCormick both of Broomfield, Colo. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 6th in the First Christian Church of Murfreesboro with Rob Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Delight Cemetery.
