Marian Frances Tompkins Teaford, 92, of Osceola entered into rest peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2012 with her daughter at her side. Born Friday, May 7, 1920 in Lake Village to the late Christopher Farrar Tomkins and Stella Elizabeth Lowrance Tompkins, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Osceola where she played the piano for 40 years and taught Sunday school until she was called to Heaven.  She also read her Bible every single night. She attended Judson College for Women in Alabama and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in education, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She taught school in Burdette, was a member of DAR, DAC and the Osceola Junior Auxiliary.  She is preceded her husband, Gene Teaford whom were married for 67 years beginning on June 17, 1943 during World War II. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Ann Teaford Kemp and husband Dan of Little Rock; four grandchildren: Amy Harkins and husband James, Molly Humphries and husband Matt, Brennan Kemp, and Chris Kemp, all of Little Rock; two great grandchildren: Alex Harkins and Helen Frances Humphries, both of Little Rock; one brother: Chris Tompkins and wife Jimmie Frances Tompkins, of Burdette; sister-in-law: Patsy Teaford, of Jonesboro; six nephews and one niece and their families. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 12-2 p.m. at Osceola First Baptist Church with the funeral following at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Ermen Cemetery.
