H. N. Holden, Jr.

H.N. Holden, 88, of Malvern, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. He was born on January 8, 1925, in Joy, Arkansas, to Hugh and Pearl Holden. He was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a Mason. Mr. Holden spent most of his working years as a superintendent of highway construction throughout Arkansas. He made many friends around the state and community. In retirement, he enjoyed restoring old tractors and planting large gardens. Sharing the bounty of the harvest with neighbors and friends gave him great pleasure. He was always willing to help anyone in need and gave of his time and talents freely. He was gifted with much wisdom and love. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lela Mae, his devoted children: Linda Kuhnert (Dale) of Hot Springs, Kathy McNabb of Benton, Rhonda Thomas (James) of Paragould, Kim Holden of Malvern, and Tim Holden (Tina) of Malvern, ten grandchildren: Mike Nofsinger, Ricky Kuhnert, Brian McNabb, Leslie Holloway, Bart Daniel, Jamie McClelland, Matthew Thomas, Nathan, Seth, and Shane Holden, and four great-grandchildren: Hannah Holloway, Rebecca Kuhnert, Randa Perry, and Aynslee McNabb. He was preceded in death by his children: Robbie Holden and Patricia Daniel, his parents and six sisters: Hillred Wortham, Lillian Hopper, Dorothy Clay, Sybil Hoofman, Helen Taylor, and Geneva Shelby. Visitation will be held at 12 noon and Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013, in Searcy, Arkansas, at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Pastor Brad Warren will be officiating.
