L. Faye Ruffin

L. Faye Ruffin, 90, of Brownwood, Texas, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Senior Care Center of Brownwood. Born March 17, 1922, in DeWitt, she was a daughter of Albert Bryant and Mary Vertner Trussell Adams. Mrs. Ruffin was reared in DeWitt. She lived in White Hall for 65 years. Mrs. Ruffin moved to Brownwood in 2007 to live near her daughter and son-in-law. She was a laboratory technician at the Pine Bluff Arsenal for ten years. Before that Mrs. Ruffin was a seamstress at Pinecrest Mills in Pine Bluff for 15 years. Mrs. Ruffin was a member of First Baptist Church in White Hall for sixty years. She was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir, and served in various positions in many church organizations. Mrs. Ruffin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Harding Ruffin in 2004; one daughter, Jeannie Ruffin Dickson, in 1993; five brothers. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Judy Ruffin Schneider and Reverend Curtis Schneider of Brownwood; grandchildren, Dr. Dawn Dickson Black and husband Freddie of League City, Texas, Stacy Dickson Granmayeh of League City, Katy Dailey and husband Gianni LeCornu of Austin, Texas, Jared Dailey and wife Kristin of Buda, Texas; son-in-law Charles Dickson and wife Roberta of Houston; great-grandchildren, Justin Black, Marissa Black, Meredith Granmayeh, Audrey Granmayeh, Ava LeCornu, Roman LeCornu, and Greta Dailey. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013, at First Baptist Church of White Hall with Doctor Bob Harper officiating and under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
