Sue Dell Jacks McClellan

Sue Dell Jacks McClellan age 71, of New Edinburg, Ark. was born on February 13, 1941, in Hickory Grove community near Star City to Glen and Jewel Conner Jacks. She was the youngest of three children who loved her family and extended family. Sue graduated from Star City High School in 1959 and attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello where she met John McClellan. They were married on June 1, 1961 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Sue and John spent most of their 51 years in the Macedonia community near New Edinburg. Sue was an active member of the First Baptist Church Warren where she served numerous years in the nursery and teaching preschool program. In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by one daughter, Detri Brech, of Arkadelphia, one son, Doug McClellan and spouse Melinda of Searcy and three grandchildren, Endsley McClellan, Conner McClellan and Katie Brech. Sue was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Glenda Summerford and her brother in law Billy Summerford and her brother, Louis Jacks and her sister in law, Mary Jo Jacks. Sue's life was spent focused on serving others, She was a kind, compassionate, and loving Christian whose greatest joy came from caring for her family. Funeral services 10 a.m. Saturday January 12, Frazer's Chapel. Burial Hickory Grove Cemetery near Star City by Frazer's Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 11, at Frazer's. Memorials preferred Hickory Grove Cemetery; P.O. Box 415; Star City, Ark. 71667. Active pallbearers are Steve Jacks, Joe Summerford, Jack Summerford, Steve Moore, Major McClellan, and Ricky Cole.
