Frances Altom Hopper

Frances Altom Hopper, 89, of Redfield, Ark. passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Ira and Ruth Blackman Altom. Frances was a homemaker and retired grocery store employee. She was a wonderful mom and grandmother to her children and especially to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were the joy and light of her life. Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, R.L. Hopper, whom she married on May 12, 1942, in Las Vegas, Nev. (which was considered the divorce capital of the U.S.) and her "light and joy" son Russell Hopper, Redfield, Ark. and sister, Chessie Humphries of Garland, Texas. Frances is survived by her daughter, Dianne Hopper; daughter-in-law, Nedra Hopper, granddaughters; LeAndra Roberts and her husband John, of Atoka Tenn. and Tamara Shoulders and her husband Reggie of Tucson, Ariz. and her wonderful great grandchildren: Hannah, Courtney, McKinley and Nathaniel Shoulders and Ian and Ben Roberts; sister-in-laws; Eva Simpson, Maumelle, Ark., Pauline Miller and her husband Dave of Rangeley, Colo., Phyllis Brooks and her husband Wes of Bearden, Ark. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that are considered family. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Redfield Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Micah Deaton and Reverend John Mooney officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Orion Cemetery in Hensley, Ark. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark.
