Shanita Diane Leverett, went home to be with her heavenly Father, Monday, January 15, 2013. She was born March 8, 1975 in Little Rock, Arkansas. The Lord blessed Ernest and Jeanette Leverett with her on September 9, 1975. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 8 and was baptized and trained in Christian living under the leadership of the late Pastor Nelson King Curry. Shanita worked faithfully and was a dedicated member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth Department, Music Ministry, Praise and Worship Ministry, Wednesday Night Prayer and Bible Ministry. She also served as the assistant choir director and the member of the Union District. She will be deeply missed by her beautiful daughter, Madison "Madi" Leverett, her parents, Deacon Ernest and Sister Jeanette Kelly-Leverett; her brother, Mark Leverett (Kim); sister, Diamond May; nieces, whom she loved dearly, Kennedy and Reagan Leverett and Myriah May; her only nephew, Wesley Leverett. She will also be missed by her beloved uncles, aunts and many cousins. Especially, Carlos, Rodney, Meka, Dwight and Clyde II. Her treasured Mt. Olive Youth Department, church members and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Martha Lauster and the caring staff of Arkansas Hospice. A celebration of her life will be held, Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. Services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 1821 Edmunds Street, NLR.
