Delbert Jay Brooks, 37, of Bald Knob, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in Bald Knob. He was born September 23, 1975 in Searcy. Delbert was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was employed in the family business, D&K Brooks Garage and Towing and was an excellent mechanic. He was a member of the Jesus Name Church and, more than anything, loved and enjoyed his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jada Brooks. He and Jada would have celebrated their 21rst wedding anniversary on January 17th. Also surviving are his children, Bethany, Branson and Britain Brooks; parents, Dale and Kay Brooks; sister, Delores Northweather; grandmother, Virginia Brooks; mother-in-law, Regina Mason; father-in-law, Rickey Finley; mamaw, Gail Nelson; sister-in-law, Merica Williams; brother-in-law, Cas Mason; nieces and nephews, Kayla Martin, Ashley Horton, Tiffany Northweather and Keaton and Hudson Muckelberg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Brooks; paternal grandfather, James Brooks and maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Goldie Goodin. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of Delbert's life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gaylon England and Bro. Bobby Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia.
