Ross Cleveland Rogers

Ross Cleveland Rogers, 86, of Hampton died Thursday January 17, 2013 at his home. Born September 29, 1926 at Hampton, he was a son of the late D.N. and Beulah Harrison Rogers. He was an Elder at Campground Presbyterian Church, an Army veteran of World War II, and a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and sister; and two sisters, Velma Oliver and Marie Strickland. He is survived by his wife, Alvernia Buck Rogers of Hampton; one son, Eddie Rogers and wife Monda of Fordyce; three daughters, Ellon Cockrill and husband Rogers of Little Rock, Susie Riddle and husband Jamie of Auburn, Ala., Hettie Nutt and husband Tony of Fordyce; three sisters, Reba Nichols of Fordyce, Mattie Lou Reddin of El Dorado, Mary Jordan of El Dorado; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Campground Presbyterian Church with Rev. Garland Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Cemetery, c/o Ed Clemons, 6762 Calhoun 219, Hampton, Ark. 71744.
