Mr. Herman Ray Green 95, of Choctaw, Arkansas went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 23, 2013. He was born in Conklyn, Kentucky September 13, 1917 to Jocephas C. and Sarah Louisa (Lyttle) Green. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines in the 1940's. He has been a Minister and Teacher of the Gospel for 70 years, preaching in Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, Alaska, and various other states. Finallly settling in Choctaw, Arkansas, he was minister for the Church of Christ at Alread, for 9 years. He was also at Van Buren County Jail Ministry for seven years. He has touched many lives over the years and will continue to live in our hearts, because of things learned by his works. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Flossie Elizabeth Puckett Green, four brothers, Howard Green, James Green, Denver Green, and Robert Green, four sisters, Beatrice, Ethel, Pearl, and Helen, and one grandson, Robert Green. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Wanda Whittaker Green, two daughters, Margaret Green Stanley (David) of Lubbuck, Texas; and Debbie Cummings (Eddie) of Judsonia, Arkansas; two grandsons, Mark Phifer and Mike Phifer both of Judsonia, AR; and four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Richard Barton, and Donald Green, one neice, and many relatives and friends. Pallbearers: Burl Sullins, Rodney Haney, Sam Shannon, Jr., Scott Bradley, Billy Tomlinson, and Kip Stringer. Honorary Pallbearers: Roy Pickett, Roger Pickett, and Benton Allen, II. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. and Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Choctaw Church of Christ with Pastor David Cook and Larry Wilks officiating. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery Bald Knob, Arkansas. Funeral Arrangements are under the care and direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton, Arkansas.
