BARBARA ISABEL WHITNEY passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2013. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, at 2:30 p.m., reception afterwards, at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1818 Reservoir Road, Little Rock. Barbara was the owner of the Creative Native Import store on Kavanaugh. Born in San Francisco, Barbara was involved in progressive causes, the league of Women Voters, RE director at the UU church, raising five children with loving care. She obtained a Master's Degree in Physiology from Berkeley. She loved her bridge club friends. Already passed: husband, John Whitney, Department chair of Physiology at UAMS; daughter, Kitty Whitney; son, Eric Whitney. Barbara is survived by: her children Kathy Whitney, Emily Alison, Brian Whitney; grandchildren, James Nichols, Jeremy Roberts, Nathan Roberts, Danny Sullivan Kaitlin Sullivan, Jason Weeks; and great-grandchildren: Dell Nichols, Vincent Weeks.
