Daniel L. Hulbert

Daniel L. Hulbert born Oct. 19, 1947 to George and Marjorie (Hines) Hulbert in Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away June 30, 2013 in Conway, Arkansas. Daniel with his family moved to Conway in 1989 after the Omaha UPRR Shops closed. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and oldest son, William Hulbert. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Earline (King) Hulbert, son, Bryan (Kristy) Hulbert of Conway, Arkansas, two granddaughters, Anna and Kelsey Hulbert also of Conway. He is also survived by brothers Herbert (Kathy) Hulbert of Little Rock, Arkansas, Norman (Liz) Hulbert of Conway, Arkansas, Lawrence Hulbert of Lincoln, Nebraska and sister Lisa Ambrose of Omaha, Nebraska. There are also many nieces and nephews. Daniel graduated in 1965 from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In September of that year he began his career with the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a maintenance electrician at the Union Pacific Ramp and Service Track when he retired June of 2013 with almost 45 years of service. Daniel was an Assistant Boy Scout Leader plus a Webelos Leader. He enjoyed many camping outings with his sons while they were in scouts. He also was involved in volunteering for the Twin City Betterment Group in Council Bluffs, Iowa before moving to Arkansas. Daniel served his country from 1967 to 1969 spending a year in Viet Nam. During Daniel's life time; he enjoyed camping, traveling, woodworking projects and especially taking his granddaughters on vacation. Family was very important to Daniel. Daniel was of Protestant faith. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday July 3rd at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, with Michael Mercer officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Young, Shawn Carroll, Gary King, Glenn Mabbitt, Joe Ryan, and Travis Ward.
