Paul Meryln Jacks

Paul Meryln Jacks, age 83, of Sherwood, passed away July 1, 2013 at Beebe Retirement Center in Beebe, Arkansas. He was born July 16, 1929 in Brinkley, Arkansas. His parents were the late Richard and Lillie Jacks of Brinkley, Arkansas. Paul graduated from Brinkley High School. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Aaron, Sandford and J.D. Jacks; one sister, Evan Hallum. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Matthews Jacks; three sons, Paul Wayne Jacks of Sherwood, Arkansas, Stanley (Judy) Jacks of Greers Ferry, Arkansas and Christopher Jacks of Maumelle, Arkansas; three grandchildren Larry Jacks of Higden, Arkansas, Michelle Jacks of Maumelle, Arkansas and Kristen Jacks of Little Rock, Arkansas; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Larry (Linda) Matthews of Yuma, Arizona, Richard (Margie) Matthews of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Becky (Steve) Price of Coram, Montana. Paul was of Baptist Faith and attended Indianhead Lake Baptist Church of Sherwood, Arkansas. He retired from National Home Center in construction sales. Paul was an avid bowler, loved fishing for catfish, and always had a big garden to share with family and friends. Paul enjoyed watching his sons play ball and race dirt bikes. Paul also played softball with the Old Retired Team until his seventies. A celebration of Paul's life will be held July 8, 2013 at 1pm at Indianhead Lake Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Indianhead Lake Baptist Church, 8601 Indianhead Dr. Sherwood, Arkansas, 72120. Funeral and cremation services arranged by Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W Main St Jacksonville. The family would like to thank Beebe Retirement Center for the wonderful and kind care Paul received while in their care the last year and a half of his life. We would also like to thank Hospice Home Care for the care they provided Paul.
