Flora Glodean "Dean" Haislip, age 89 of Cabot, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was born April 13, 1924 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Frank and Dollie Haislip. She was a faithful member of the Church of God International, she loved singing and playing music at nursing homes and was a member of the Sunset Strummers, The Krack Pots Band and the 49ers. She will always be remembered as the Matriarch of the Family and a Prayer Warrior. She worked as a most coveted head waitress for the Holiday Inn and the Four Winds, where she met many famous people. She also worked at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant during WWII and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of their children, Carl S. Gately. She is survived by her children, Jan Gately Hughes and her husband, Dickie of Ward, Gwen Gately Dees of Austin, and James Gately and his wife, Gigi of Lonoke; one brother, Bill Haislip of Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Elkins officiating.
