James William Curran Jr. died on July 4, 2013 at the age of 81. He was born October 4, 1931. He was a retired salesman from Rand's, Inc. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo Anne, one son, James and a daughter, Jacklyn. James is survived by three children, Janet Cloud (husband, Billy), David Curran (wife. Suzanne), and Carol Plafcan (husband, Richard). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. James loved the Lord and was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church contributing in many ways to the church from providing milk for the children's program to cleaning the church. James was a loving, caring person who took the time to tell anyone he dealt with how much he appreciated them. He touched many lives with his thoughtfulness. He was a hard worker and proud of it. For James, doing a job right was the reward. No challenge seemed too much, from building his own car as a teenager to building a home for his family when he was grown. James was a storyteller and loved to talk, especially about politics. James could find humor in almost any situation and delighted people with his dry wit. Nothing made him happier than to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His family and friends always knew that if they needed help James would be there for them. Funeral will be at Hebron Baptist Church, 18715 Kanis Road, Little Rock on Sunday, July 7, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home (L.R.) on Saturday, July 6, from 3-5 p.m. The ties that bind are cords of love And none could ever be As tight and strong as those we had My father and me.
