Bessie Nolen Ward

Bessie Nolen Ward, 89, of Searcy, passed from this life Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was born Feb. 11, 1924 in Mt. Vernon, Ark. to the late Monroe Leonard and Carrie Adkisson Nolen. Mrs. Ward married Carl Frank Ward and he preceded her in death after 60 years of marriage on Nov. 4, 2007. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church in Searcy. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, C.L., Boothe, Elvin, Leonard, and Doyle Nolen; and five sisters, Bernell Gaylor, Opal Leslie, Berthell Breeding, Erma Arnold and Nora Mae Nolen. She is survived by her son, Randy Ward and wife Leah; daughter, Angie Wortham and husband, Gary; two sisters, Jean Price and Dean Cranford; two grandchildren, Greg Wortham and wife Jennifer, and Miranda Ward Armstrong and husband Nick; two great grandchildren, Amelia Armstrong and Connor Wortham. Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 7 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, July 8 in the Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jesse Burkett officiating.
