Hollis H. Childers

Hollis H. Childers, 81, of Farmerville, La., died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Farmerville Nursing & Rehab in Farmerville, La. He was born March 12, 1932 in Hampton, Arkansas. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Huttig Public Schools and he also served in the Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin G. Childers and Ollie Mae Strickland Childers; wives, Mattie L. Griffis Childers and Ouida Antley Childers; one son, Walter Hollis Childers; one sister, Nell Robbins; and one brother, Grady Childers. He is survived by one son, Willie Childers of Bernice, La.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Monty Walker of Bernice, La., Jeanie and Scott Liles of Hot Springs, Pam and Doug Chambliss of Camden; one step-daughter, Lisa Murrill of Edmond, Okla.; one brother, Paul Childers of Minden, La.; one sister, Sylvia Thornton of Fordyce; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Ford, Dean Steelman and Rev.
