Dwight Jones, age 86 of Nashville, Arkansas, left this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born August 7, 1926 in Center Point, Arkansas to the late Marshall V. and Jess Payne Jones. He was a retired school administrator from Nashville Public Schools. Mr. Jones was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville, a former member of Nashville Rotary, past president of the Arkansas High School Coaches Association. In 1961-1962 he was awarded the Lowell Manning Award and in 1962 coached the West All Star Football Team. He had also retired from the Arkansas State Department of Education- Migrant Education Division. He served on the Board of Directors of First National Bank in Nashville for several years. He also was a retired insurance agent, and owned and operated a cattle and peach farm in Center Point. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ellen Bedwell Jones on June 24, 2007. His survivors include a son, Tim and wife Jeri Jones of Center Point, Arkansas; a daughter, Janet and husband Stephen Jamison of Nashville, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Tyler and Marshall Moon of Conway, Arkansas, Kiley Jones of Center Point, Arkansas, Haley, Mattie and Zach Jamison of Nashville, Ark.; a host of other family and friends too numerous to name. Services will be Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 4 pm. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Nashville with Jimmy Dale and Edwin Dale officiating. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home. The public may pay their respect to Mr. Jones from 3 p.m. until service time on Thursday at Immanuel Baptist Church.
