Ruth Geneva Ward

Ruth Geneva Ward went to be with her Heavenly Father early Friday, July 12, 2013. She was born June 25, 1924 in Russell to George and Eva Harvey. She was retired from Arkansas General Industries, a member of Russell United Methodist Church, AARP, quilting club and worked at the voting polls for many years. Geneva enjoyed fishing, gardening, working in her yard and most of all she loved to cook. She is survived by her children, Charles Ward (Cathy), Vera Wheeler and Lavon Ward (Beverly); grandchildren, Mike Ward, Steve Ward (Dawn), Greg Ward, Cody Ward (Christy) and Cheryl Edwards; a "granddaughter", Whitney Davis Brown; step-grandson, Grayling Wheeler (Debbie); great-grandchildren, Baylor Ward, Kayleigh Ward and Ambrynne Ward; step-great-grandchildren, Gregg Wheeler, Ashlee Keith, Cooper Powell, Shane Grandjean, Shawna Hollingshead (Ricky), Haley Eason and Kayla Kerr; step-great-great grandchildren, Athan Kerr, Carlee Kerr, Khloe Wolford, Jayden Fuller, Jordan Hollingshead (Madison), Karissa Ward (Josh) and Savannah Grandjean; and one step-great-great-great grandchild, Avery Hollingshead; siblings, Loyd Harvey (Phyllis), Marvin Harvey (Mildred), Georgia Harvey Meadows and Wanda Harvey Brown (Floyd); sisters-in-law, Wandene Harvey and Barbara Kelly Southerland; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 ½ years, Ed Ward; five siblings, Kenneth Harvey and his infant twin brother, Marie, Donald Wayne and James Carroll; infant twin grandchildren, Drew and Drake Ward and one nephew, James Carroll Jr. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-3 p.m. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob.
