Elizabeth Walsh Allgood, age 73, of Delight passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 in Hot Springs. She was born January 5, 1940 in Delight, the daughter of the late Vernon and Geneva Hemby Walsh. She and her husband owned and operated Allgood Petroleum & One Stop in Delight for many years. Elizabeth was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother which affectionately earned her the name of "Giggie". She was always willing to share a story or photo of her family of whom she was so proud. Elizabeth was an active member of Delight First Baptist Church. She loved to decorate her home on various holidays especially at Christmas time. She enjoyed many different collections including birdhouses, clowns, and Raggedy Ann dolls. Each spring she looked forward to planting flowers, working in her yard and hosting a kite flying for the kids of her church. Elizabeth especially enjoyed making trips with her husband to First Monday Trade Days, Rusty Relic Tractor Club Shows and antique car swap meets. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Terry Allgood; son, Steve Allgood and wife Lori, their children, Mitchell and Katie Allgood, all of Delight; daughter, Angela Johnson and husband Randy of Rockwall, Texas, their children, Jase Johnson and wife Kerri of Terrell, Texas Jenna Beth Howard and husband Brad of Delight, their son, Drake Howard, who lovingly called her "Sweet Pea", daughter, Ginger Barnett and husband Jon; their children, Hayden, Cameron, McCaul, and Parker Elizabeth Barnett, all of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Shelba Jean Grubbs and Linda Quinney both of Delight; and a host of other family and friends. Celebration of life services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 18th at Delight First Baptist Church with Bro. Verlon Wood officiating. Interment will be in Delight Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Pallbearers will be Jason Teel, Eric Quinney, Johnny Hale, Kevin Brownlee, Henry Ward and Mont Stahlman. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Edge, Bill Lee and Anthony Quinney. Memorials may be made to Delight Volunteer Ambulance Service % Bank of Delight.
