Evelyn Parkinson Danner, 95, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013. She will be remembered as a gracious and elegant woman, devoted to her family and friends. She was born on September 11, 1917 in Lonoke to Frank M. and Annie McGuire Pack. Early in her career, she was an executive assistant to the President of 555 Automotive Supply. She then worked in executive administration at the Little Rock Water Department and at the Arkansas State Department of Health. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for 63 years and was active in the Women's Society at the Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother who died at birth, two brothers, and three sisters. She married Nathan F. Parkinson in 1950. They were married for 35 years until his death in 1985. In 1991, she married Col. C.B. "Mike" Danner (Ret.). They remained married until his death in 2000. Evelyn Danner is survived by a daughter, Kay Parkinson Combs, and her husband, Ben; three grandchildren, Melissa Drennan, Christopher Combs, and Kathleen Combs; and four great-grandchildren, Reece and Whit Weatherton and MaKensi and Cade Drennan. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, from 5-7 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W. 12th Street. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 19, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy 5 North in Alexander. Reverend Jerry Collins will officiate.
