Rachel O. Weaver Surrett Curry, 86, of Carlisle passed away July 13, 2013 at Arkansas Hospice in St. Vincent Hospital. She was born August 5, 1926 in Humnoke to Floyd and Etoyle Young Weaver. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Hugh Surrett, one sister Vivian Housley, and two brothers, Floyd Weaver, Jr. and Bill Weaver. She is survived by her husband Garland "Junior" Curry; three daughters, Norma (Rick) Wasser of White Lake, Mich., Barbara (Ron) Gault of Lonoke and Kay (Fred) Mooney of Lonoke; grandchildren, Melanie (Bryan) Haberaecker of Edwards AFB, Calif., Jonathan Wasser and Michelle Rounick of Conshohoken, Pa., Justin (Beth) Mooney, John Mooney and Amanda Andrews, all of Lonoke; great-grandchild, Ally Mooney of Lonoke; pets, her dog Ginger and many cats. Rachel was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. As a gardener she had an incredible green thumb. Rachel lovingly cared for her roses and flowers. Foremost she was an amazing chef with over thirty years serving the public and seventy years spoiling her family and friends with her culinary delights. The family will receive visitors at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke, Friday, July 19 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral Service will be Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Bro.
