Edna E. West, 89, of Stuttgart passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs, surrounded by family. She was born June 20, 1924 in Aberdeen, Arkansas to Lula E. Lindsey and William A. Redditt. She married Russell West of Warren, Arkansas on September 8, 1945 and together they raised seven children. Edna had such a passion for the great outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing. Mamaw, as she was known by her grandchildren, loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had such a colorful personality and always had a smile on her face. She loved her family and friends and looked forward to any family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and William Redditt; husband, Russell West; son, Stephen R. West (Steve) of Clarendon; daughter, Betty Lou Pearman of Stuttgart; three sisters, Nellie Crosson of Aberdeen, Jewell Bryant of Stuttgart and Johnnie Shelton of Casscoe; three brothers, Cecil Redditt and Lecial Redditt both of Aberdeen, and Opal Redditt of Clarendon. She is survived by her children, daughters, Phyllis Vansandt and husband Gary of Ethel, Gail Horned and husband Charles of Conway, and Kathy Griffith of Stuttgart; sons, Mike West and wife Debbie of Fullton, and Johnny West and wife Darlene of Casscoe; and daughter-in-law, Belinda West of Clarendon; 14 grandchildren, Gari Lynn Vansandt Bassett of Little Rock, Kirk Vansandt and wife Holly of St. Charles, Holly Horned McKenna and husband Tim of Conway, Amy Porter Dean and husband Ronny Jr, and Natalie Porter Maynard and husband Alex all of Stuttgart, Sloane Porter McMoran and husband James of Benton, Jeffrey Pearman and fiancé Cynthia Alcorn of Longview, Texas, Jennifer Pearman Turney and husband Nathan of Jonesboro, Christy West Johnson of Stuttgart, Kim West Guthrie and husband Darin of DeWitt, Leslie West Bouscher and husband Jeff of Casscoe, Lisa West Testo and husband Anthony of Monroe, Conn., Jonathan West and wife Angie of Casscoe, and Sara West Ford and husband Jared of Clarendon; and 33 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Essex Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd from 9 to 10 a.m. at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart. The service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Hunter's Chapel Cemetery in Casscoe, immediately following the service.
