Grace Elizabeth Evatt Reed, 86, passed away on Sunday, July 21st, 2013. She was born December 27th, 1926 in Vilonia to the late John and Savannah Evatt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph F. Reed, a brother Lee Owen "Tiny" Evatt, and one grandchild Eric Davis. She is survived by her four children; Danny (Dinah) Reed of Conway, Jerry (Sondra) Reed of Heber Springs, Steve (Nelda) Reed of Conway, and Katrina (Leo) Wilcox of Conway. She is also survived by two sisters, Inez Coker of Vilonia, Clara Baker of Conway; two brothers, Leroy (Uvie) Evatt of Little Rock and George (JoAnn) Evatt of Conway. Surviving grandchildren include Lisa (Joe) Crowson, Brooke (Jamie) Melton, Spence (Tali) Reed, Chris (Summer) Reed, Dexter Davis, Sarah Ligon, Clint Ligon, Pate (Allison) Reed, Annie Beth (Jeremy) Wheeler, Sarah-Catherine (Jay) Orahood, Lance (Angela) Wilcox, and Caitlin Wilcox. Great grandchildren include Reed and Cole Henderson, Gracie and Mary Melton, Maddox and Phoebe Reed, Easton Reed, Tucker Reed, Reece Wheeler, and Ella and Laney Orahood. Grace graduated Valedictorian from Vilonia High School and Arkansas Polytechnic College (Arkansas Tech University). She was a faithful and long-time member of First Church of the Nazarene where she enjoyed being a part of the "Prime Timers" group. She retired from Conway Public Schools where she was a secretary for the Central Office. She was a Wampus Cat fan and loved watching her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. She was a resident of Southridge Village Assisted Living. Grace loved her time there. She enjoyed all of her friends and participated in the many activities. She could always be found socializing in the lobby or at the Bingo game. She won the honor of being crowned "Ms. Southridge Village 2012". Grace loved the Lord and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother ("Mamaw"), and great grandmother. She was the epitome of her name. She was full of grace, joy, patience, and love. Her love of Christ was exemplified in her everyday life. She had the kindest heart and the sweetest spirit. Her smiling face, gentle manner, and strong devotion to God and to her family is the way she will be remembered. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Conway First Church of Nazarene Family Life Center, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jim Sanders will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Spence Reed, Chris Reed, Pate Reed, Lance Wilcox, Joe Crowson, Jamie Melton, Jay Orahood, Jeremy Wheeler, Cole Henderson, and Clint Ligon. Memorials can be made to First Nazarene Church Building Fund, 1517 Faulkner Street, Conway, Ark. 72034.
