SYLVIA P. WESSON, saved by grace through faith, became free of pain on Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was born in Hickory Plains, Ark. to Walter and Josie Scott on Dec. 18, 1928. She grew up in North Little Rock, graduated from NLR High School and went on to attend Central Baptist College. She was married to Carl Wesson for more than 52 loving years until his death in 2002. Together they built a house on land where they always had a big garden, chickens and other animals. That is where they raised two children, Mary McKeown and Don Wesson, leaving them with the wisdom, faith and values that their great generation possessed. She was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church since 1967, teaching Sunday School for many years. She excelled as a homemaker, wife and mother. Sewing was her passion and therapy. Sylvia was a great cook, loved crafts and could out fish anyone. Sylvia is also survived by her brother, Raymond Scott (Marge) of Ft. Worth and her sister, Clytice Koehler (P.J.) of Sherwood, her much loved granddaughters, Katy McKeown and Maggie McKeown as well as many nieces and nephews. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all of us. Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 E. C Ave. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street 501-758-1170, followed by a service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Old Austin Cemetery in Cabot, Ark. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home a Smith Family Funeral Home. Online obituary and guest registry at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
