Ouida D. Sumner

Ouida D. Sumner, 81, of Conway passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013. She was born on Tuesday, September 1, 1931 in Moro, Arkansas to the late Chester and Ollie Mae (Creech) Patterson. Mrs. Sumner retired from Mid-South Towing, where she as a cook on the largest towboat pushing barges up and down the great Mississippi River. After her "retirement", she went back to school. Her work as a nail tech resulted in many lasting friendships. She was a caring individual loved by family and friends, who will miss her. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Hensley and her husband, Fletcher; grandchildren, Felicia Hensley, Paul Hensley (Sherry), and Sara Bogard (Stuart); and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, James W. "Buddy" Sumner; son, James William "Bo" Sumner, Jr.; and granddaughter, India Langford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Helena. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
