Johnny Archie Wilson

Johnny Archie Wilson, age 87, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Arkansas Convalescent Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Wilson was born April 30, 1926, in North Little Rock, Ark., the son of the late Melvin Reed and Viola Hodges Wilson. Mr. Wilson was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, where he attended the Pine Bluff schools. He was a member of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church. He was a very accomplished auto body repairman and a master auto technician and had worked at Cliff Peck Chevrolet in Little Rock and Smart Chevrolet and Sears for a number of years before retiring in 1978. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Greg Bland of Lake Village; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Shirley Wilson of Redfield, Johnny and Jackie Wilson of Jefferson and Joey and Penny Wilson of Watkinsville, Ga.; three sisters, Edith Fluery of Malvern, Ruth Grimes of Pine Bluff and Mary Catherine Gray of Little Rock; 10 grandchildren, Michelle Green (Brian Carroll), Kristy Dickey (Lute), Brock Bland (Frances), Ryan Arlin Wilson, Joseph Wilson, Marly Naron, Evan Wilson, Maleei House (Jon), Jania Brown (Chris), Jacklyn Lawrence (Jake); eleven great grandchildren, Megan and Sawyer Dickey, Tea and Mina Bland, Jackson Carroll, Jon Brandon and Gage House, Christian Brown and Zachery, Xander and Tiffany Lawrence and a very special cousin, John Hodges. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Maples Wilson, whom he married August 1, 1948 in Pine Bluff and a sister, Rachel Pritchard. Funeral services will be Monday, June 3, 2013, at 11 p.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors with Reverend David Thompson officiating.
