Elizabeth Marie Barnes

Elizabeth Marie Barnes, 72, of McGehee, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at Dermott City Nursing Home. She was a former dispatcher for the McGehee Police Dept. and the Desha County Sheriff's Office. She was also the owner and operator of Tasty Freeze in McGehee. Mrs. Barnes was born to the late Murray C. and Marie Connard Davis on Oct. 16, 1940 in Dermott, Ark. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Barnes, and a son, Steve Barnes. She is survived by a son, Randy Barnes (Wendy) of McGehee, Ark.; a brother, Lamar "Bubby" Davis of Monticello, Ark.; a sister, Ilar Bee Moss of Dermott, Ark.; six grandchildren, Jason Barnes (Paige), Joshua Barnes, Jarred Barnes, Shane Rogers, Camron Rogers, Evan Barnes; two great-grandchildren, Avery Barnes and Jalyn Powell. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013 at McGehee Cemetery with Rev.
