DOROTHY M. MATTHEWS, 89, of Little Rock passed away on Saturday, June 8. She was born on June 17, 1923, in Quitman, Ark. to James Walter and Nora (Gateley) Langston. She was a retired Elementary School Teacher with the Little Rock School District and a longtime member of South Highland Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Matthews of Little Rock; two brothers; three sisters-in-law; scores of nieces and nephews and three grandpets, Bonnie, Cooper and Chessie. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander, Ark. with Dr. Bill Brown officiating, a special and longtime family friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maumelle Friends of Animals, P.O.
