Arvle Eugene Quattlebaum

Arvle Eugene Quattlebaum, age 77, took Jesus' hand and entered Heaven on June 9, 2013 at UAMS. He had been in the hospital since April 23, 2013. His death was a result of complications from lung cancer. He was born September 12, 1935 to the late Author and Lena Quattlebaum in Concord, Arkansas. He graduated from Guy Perkins High School in 1952 at the age of 16. On April 13, 1954, he married the love of his life Clara Belle Glover Quattlebaum. They spent 59 happy years together. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his only brother E.J. Quattlebaum, a baby daughter, Leigh Ann Quattlebaum, his in-laws, Tom and Rosa Glover of Guy, brothers-in-law, Elmo Glover and wife Lucy of Guy, Wendell Glover and Elton Heffington of Conway and a great-granddaughter, Kenadi Hudson of North Little Rock. He is survived by his wife, Clara Quattlebaum, Sons Mike Quattlebaum (Lisa), Mark Quattlebaum and Elijah Quattlebaum all of Conway, Daughter DeAnna Smith and husband Ray of Conway; grandchildren, Cody Quattlebaum and wife Hope of Conway, Casi Hudson and husband Brandon of North Little Rock, Josh, Rachel and Matthew Quattlebaum of North Little Rock, Trey and Noah Smith of Conway. Great Grandchildren Roxanne Quattlebaum of Jacksonville, Fla., Kain and Parker Hudson of North Little Rock and Brody Quattlebaum of Conway; nieces, Sharon Rimmer and Dwight, Suellen Ward and Don of Guy, Janelle Heffington, Wanda Holland and Leon, nephew Eric Glover all of Conway and many great-nieces and nephews; two special daughters-in-law, Kimberly Simkins of Conway and RaGena Quattlebaum of North Little Rock. Arvle retired after 27 years working for Safeway and Harvest Foods. He owned and operated Quattlebaum's Antiques and Used Furniture since 1972 along with his wife and children. He played baseball when he was younger and loved the St. Louis Cardinals never missing a game if possible. The visitation will be Tuesday, June 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Conway's First Baptist Church and the funeral will be Wednesday, June 12 at 2 p.m. also at Conway's First Baptist Church.
