V. J. Brady, 89, of Vilonia, Ark., passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Vernon Brady and Minnie (Roberts) Brady. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. In the early 1950's, he owned and operated Paradise Landing at Lake Conway. Later, as an employee of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in the 1960's, he trapped bears in Minnesota and brought them to Arkansas for repopulation. But most of his life was spent farming and operating a dairy on the family farm, where he also loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Jo (Bell) Brady, of Vilonia; sons, John R. Brady Sr. and wife Robin Brady, of Cabot, and William C. Brady and wife, Lisa Brady, of Vilonia; daughter, Vickie Lee Brady, of Conway; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Service will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
