Bonnie Gene Hill

Bonnie Gene Collins Hill, 76, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013. She was born April 28, 1937 in Hoxie to the late William Dan and Tressie Callahan Collins. Mrs. Hill's family moved to Jacksonville in 1940 and she graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1956. She began working for the Arkansas Highway Department after high school and remained there for 35 years until her retirement. Mrs. Hill had many good friends in Jacksonville and all across the country. She was a wonderful, loving mother and was loved by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Hill. Mrs. Hill is survived by her loving son, Glenn Hill and her sister, Catherine Canfield, both of Jacksonville; her nieces, Constance Canfield and Candace Canfield Grandjean (Shane); grand-nieces, Lizzie and Gracie Fuhrman and Savanna Grandjean; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Patch, Janice Jones and Lorraine Bown; a special niece, Cheryl Gebhart and many other nieces and nephews in Iowa. The Hill family would like to say a special Thank You to Doctors Greg Bienvenu, Omar Kaliahl, John Hayes and Gary Glasco along with the nurses and staff of Baptist Health Medical Center – Springhill, who all gave her such great care. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with interment following at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
