Jake E. Clements Jr., age 81, of Little Rock, passed away on, Saturday, June 23, 2013. He was born on September 21, 1931, in El Dorado, Arkansas to Jake and Juanita Clements. Jake graduated from El Dorado High School in 1949. He earned a Bachelor and a Master of Science Degree in Geology, from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Upon graduation he served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Discharged in 1958 he was employed as a geologist in the Materials Division of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, for the next 44 years until his retirement. A few of the many areas of interest during his lifetime were: Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, manager for a man's adult softball team, Razorback supporter, New York Yankee fan and enjoying fellowship with his friends. Jake was predeceased by his parents, his sister; Jessie Clements Crumpler, his daughter; Janet Kay Clements, and was widowed twice; Carolyn Reid Clements and his second wife, Nela Edwards Clements. He is survived by his daughter; Daphne Clements and her family, and by a stepson; David Burk and his wife June, and their family. A graveside service will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Park on, Thursday, June 27, 2013, at11:30 a.m. with Father Mark Wood officiating.
