Jerry Sumner Boyd

Jerry Sumner Boyd age 74, of Jacksonville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born August 22, 1938 in Jacksonville to the late Redmond Boyd and Annie Sumner Boyd. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Don Boyd and Dickie Boyd. He is survived by his son Dr. Craig Boyd, one daughter, Alana Boyd Elsasser, siblings; Arthur Boyd and his wife Bonnie, Mary Ruth Turrentine, Diana Besancon and her husband Wayne, sister-in-law, Margret Boyd, grandchildren; Erica Boyd, Tristan Boyd, Madison Boyd, Mikayla Boyd, Annalise Elsasser, Olivia Elsasser , and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Walter officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
