Laverne Emerson

Laverne Emerson, 79, of Cabot died Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was born August 21, 1933 in Zwolle, Louisiana to the late Herman and Ertie Fox Champion. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from Maybelline after 17 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Emerson was preceded in death by her first husband, Doyle Williams and a brother, Dwight Champion. Mrs. Emerson is survived by her husband of almost 30 years, Dean Emerson; her stepsons, Tony Emerson and Richard Emerson and his wife Kelly, all of Cabot; one sister, Helen Gifford of Texarkana and one grandson, Max Allen Emerson. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Victory Baptist Church with Brother Ben Leonard officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Alread.
