Owen C. Glass

Owen C. Glass Jr., 89, was born April 8, 1923 to Owen C. Glass Sr. and Leona Tittle Glass in Saline County, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ernest C. Glass and one sister, Eunice Glass James and one great-grandson, Shane Harris. He is survived by one sister, Ruth Glass Roulston of North Little Rock and six children: Shirley Glass Romine of Claremore, Okla.; Donna Glass Hacker and her husband Graham of Bartlesville, Okla.; Dee Ann Glass English and her husband Don of Center Ridge, Ark.; Thomas Glass and his wife Cristy of Benton; Lynn Glass Johnson and her husband Hal of North Little Rock; Blain Glass and his wife Dana of North Little Rock. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. After growing up in Scott, Ark., O. C. joined the Army Air Corp (USAF) in 1941 and served until 1945. Following his military service, he worked as an airplane mechanic, diesel mechanic and farmer. The past 20 years he owned and operated the Waffle Shack Cafe in England, Ark., where he made some of the best friendships of his life. Service will be Monday, March 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Roller England Funeral Home Chapel (501) 842-3939. Visitation will be Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Roller England from 3-5 p.m. Burial will be at Arkansas Memorial Gardens near Jacksonville. Bro. Otis Chapman will be officiating.
