Cynthia (Cindie) Smith

Cynthia (Cindie) Smith, of Benton, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. She was 50. The family had a small graveside service with family and close friends attending with Pastor Don Satterwhite officiating. Cindie grew up in Webb, Ala., and was a 1980 graduate of Houston County High School in Columbia. She was a student of Pulaski Technical College. She loved to read and journal and was exceptional in her writing. She dearly loved animals and had a passion for speaking out against animal abuse. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Smith of Pine Bluff. Surviving relatives include her three daughters, Kendall Porter, Mabelvale, Vivian Murray, Bryant, Brandie Stroud, Pine Bluff; her mother, Barbara Smith, Mabelvale; her brother, Chester Smith, Gainesville, Fla.; her sister, Teresa Russell and husband Tom, Bryant; and her beloved little dog, Buttercup. Cindie's wonderful sense of humor and caring spirit will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.
