Paul Phillips

Photo of Paul Phillips
Paul Phillips, age 68, of Austin, Ark., decided Tuesday, March 12th he needed a little bit bigger workshop, so he headed to heaven to tinker on whatever God needed fixing up there. Paul was a devoted dad and husband, who talked loudly and laughed even louder. After a long career as a driver for Jones Truck Lines and ABF Truck Lines, he enjoyed retirement by doing anything and everything he wanted. After his first wife, Sharon, died suddenly in February 2011, he rekindled a friendship and found love with Laura Lendermon. They were married on Orange Beach in the spring of 2012, and together, set a goal "to have fun." They traveled, parasailed, bought a motorcycle, and had a ball. When Paul became ill around Christmastime, Laura was by his side every step of the way. Along with some great woodworking projects, and some rebuilt engines, Paul leaves behind two great sons, Jeremy Phillips and Jason Phillips, and his little buddy, grandson, Parker. There were no greater joys to Paul than these three. Okay, make it four; his furry Schnauzer baby, Shoogie. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Ed Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Laura; sons, Jeremy and Jason; grandson, Parker; step-daughters, Debbie Biggs and Amy Rolfes; sister and brother-in-law Roy and Shirley Marple; nieces and nephews-in-law, Rick and Shelly Everette; great-nephew, Dallas, as well as dozens of cousins and hundreds of friends. A memorial service will be held for Paul Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400). In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter, and just take the time to spend the day doing what you love with those you love. Online guestbook www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/owens.
