Carlos Coelho, age 64, of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013. Carlos was born in the Azores, Portugal. He was the son of the late Ollie and Maria Coelho. He came to America in 1979 and worked at Falcon Jet and Hawker-Beechcraft until his retirement in 2009. Carlos was an industrial designer by trade and a tinkerer by choice. He had a special devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Carlos loved gardening, swimming, riding his scooter, playing with his grandchildren, and using his designer skills to modify anything and everything in his world. He was most proud of his family. Survivors include his best friend and loving wife, Lana, his two sons, Jerome of Little Rock, Nicholas (Layla) of Seattle, Wash.; four step-children, Robert Fleck of Orange, Calif., Timothy Fleck of Fayetteville, Ark., Elizabeth (Phillip) McMath of Little Rock, and Mary Frances (John David) Tucker of Little Rock. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren, James and Maggie McMath, Jack, Ike, and Ella Fleck, Olivia Grace Tucker, and his former wife, Sidney Spitzer. Carlos will also be missed by his brother, Ricardo (Roswaitha) Coelho of Germany, his cousins, his sisters- and brothers-in-law, his nieces and nephews and dear family friends. Carlos' family would like to thank the skilled and compassionate doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists at Baptist Health Little Rock. The Mass of Christian Burial will be said at Christ the King Catholic Church, Little Rock, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. A private burial will be held at a later date.
