Rudolph "Rudy" Radanovich, 88, of Muskogee, passed from this earth on Saturday, March 16, 2013. He was born on June 2, 1924, to Anthony and Anna Radanovich in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up there and later joined the Army. During his service, he was transferred to Jerome, Arkansas. There he met the love of his life, Claudine Bates. They married on June 30th, 1947 in Dermott, Arkansas, where they would live and raise their family. Only recently, they moved to Muskogee to be closer to family due to his health. Rudy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He served the Lord and had attended Dermott Baptist Church for over 50 years. In healthier days, he and Claudine would not miss a Friday night going out with friends to Catfish Kitchen in McGee, always fun times. Rudy's smile was his calling card and it was infectious. A person couldn't be around him without seeing his smile and hearing his laugh. There was such a positive spirit about him. He was proud to have served his country during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest son, Michael; three brothers, Tony, Joe, and Frank; his sister, Anna Bloomquist. He is survived by his wife, Claudine, son, Steve and wife Sharla of Muskogee; daughter-in-law, Julie Radanovich of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Maria and husband Nathan Avers of Muskogee, Jessica Hawke of Muskogee, Chris Radanovich of Oklahoma City, and Chastity Radanovich of Muskogee; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alex and Zachery Avers, and Aubrielle Hawke, brother, John Radanovich of Thornton, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday March 19, 2013 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Guy Parrish, Reverend Jerry Starnes and Reverend David Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Chris Radanovich, Nathan Avers, Ryan Law, Billy Crosby and Wesley Stanley. Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, OK. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com.
