Brian Sharp, 40, of St. Louis, passed away Sunday, March 24. He was born November 16, 1972, at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines to Mike Sharp and Edith Dixon. Brian was raised in Grand Avenue Baptist Church, graduated from Lakeside High School in 1990, and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He continued a proud tradition of service in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably; he was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. Brian was a complete sports fanatic and participated in countless municipal sports leagues. He displayed incredible courage and work ethic, keeping a job despite a difficult battle with cancer. Brian is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Sharp, and his maternal grandparents. He is survived by his father, Mike Sharp (Cindy), of Hot Springs; mother, Edith Dixon (Steve), of Baldwin, Mississippi; step-brothers, Zach and Chase Brodrick; aunts Debbie Campbell (Don) and Kathy Morris (Garvis); cousins, Shannon Morris, Tricia Stevens, and Jennifer Beals; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Mississippi. Graveside service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. After the service, the family will receive guests at 2680 Marion Anderson Road in Hot Springs. Honorary pallbearers include John Dean and Glen Scott, from Lakeside; St. Louis friends Julie, Jenny, and Ryan; and the flight crew members of 965 AACS Air Combat Wing.
