Gerald "Mack" Conley, Sr., 78, of Pine Bluff, passed away, Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home. Born September 8, 1934, in Pine Bluff, he was the son of the late Frank and Ruby Keith Conley. He was reared and received his early education in Plum Bayou, graduating from Plum Bayou High School. In January of 1957, he married Floy Jean Everett, together they had one son. As a young adult Mack worked for Arkla Chemicals at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He then went to work for the Cotton Belt Railroad, now Union Pacific, as a pipe fitter and sheet metal worker, retiring after thirty-five years of service. He also worked alongside his son, farming land in southern Jefferson County, during his spare time from the railroad and after his retirement. Mack spent many enjoyable hours coaching pee wee football and basketball. He, along with his wife, attended Southside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean Conley, of Pine Bluff and his son, Gerald "Jerry" Conley, Jr. and Kathie of White Hall. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
