John Dale Enoch, 71, of Conway, Arkansas, died peacefully on the morning of Saturday, March 23, 2013. He died of complications of heart congestion and prostate cancer. He was born on 1/11/42 in Detroit, MI, USA to his parents, Taz Sledd Enoch and Rubye Mae Gates Enoch. On November 4, 1966, Dale married Joan Elizabeth Davidson of Memphis, Tenn., who loved him through 46 years of marriage and was beside him when he died. He will be remembered and missed by Joan, his adoring daughters Jana Dyan Enoch Perciful and Jennifer Dawn Enoch of Kingsport, Tenn., Stephanie Anne Enoch of Searcy, Ark., and his grandsons, Tristan Matthew Perciful and Logan Alexander Perciful also of Kingsport, Tenn. Others who will miss him are his devoted brother, J. Rex Enoch and wife Nancy Taylor Enoch, his other sisters-in-law, Anita K. Enoch of Kernersville, N.C. and Beverly Davidson Walton of Brisbane, Australia, his brother-in-law, Lee Merrill Davidson of San Jose, Calif., his nieces and nephews Karen Enoch Smith (Tony), Kristie Enoch Campbell (Kevin), Kimberly Enoch York (Adrian), Kenneth Enoch (Michelle), Kirk Enoch (Laura), Kerry Enoch (Tammie), Joel Enoch, Jerol Enoch (Eva), Lisa Joan Walton (Marcelo Amauri), many other Enoch family members and a host of treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his elder brother Taz Ronald Enoch, his grandparents Joe Thomas Enoch and Shelley Swann Enoch and John C. Gates and Rosa Whittle Gates. Dale graduated from Central High School in Bolivar, Tenn. and from Union University, in Jackson, Tenn. After college graduation, Dale moved to Memphis, Tenn., as a newsman for the Commercial Appeal covering politics, government and other major events. In 1966, he became Bureau Chief of the newspaper's Little Rock office, covering house, senate and other major news. He then spent 3 years as Legislative Assistant for Congressman Bill Alexander in Washington. Following that, he again worked for the Commercial Appeal in Memphis. Dale later became Director of The Institute of Politics and Government in Conway, Ark. In 1988, he became Executive Director of The Arkansas One-Call System and remained in this position until he retired in 2003. Dale was friendly, generous, a peacemaker, loved people and was respected by many. Relatives and Friends are invited to gather on Saturday, March 30th at 10 a.m. for Family Visitation, follwed by a Memorial Celebration of his life at 11:00 am. The location is Fellowship Bible Church, 1051 Hogan Lane, in Conway, Ark.
