MARY ANN BARD of Maumelle went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born to Dave & Emma Schrag of Elyria, Kan. on June 28, 1927. She attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan. She was united in marriage to Dale Bard of Wahoo, Neb. on December 19, 1949. Mary was a professional seamstress, had a beautiful singing voice, and played both the piano and the organ at church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Laura Jantz, Viola Stucky, Verna Zahlout, and her brothers, Wilbur and Ray Schrag. She is survived by her three daughters – Gwendy (Curt) Derden of Maumelle, Ark., Judy Peterson of West Des Moines, Iowa and Cindy (Greg) Covalt of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by seven grandchildren – Laura Franklin, Christine Hilbert, Adam Peterson, Carrie Hopkins, Reed Peterson, Lou Ann Shannon, Jon Covalt, by ten great-grandchildren – Greg, Raquel, Kendrick, Antonio, Kevianna, Kaylie, Derek, Raelynn, Blake, August, and one great-great-grandchild, Gabriella. Her brother Carl Schrag of Littleton, Colo. also survives her. Visitation with the family will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 5900 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock Ark. at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2 with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Stuttgart Ark. The family would like to express their deep, heart-felt thanks to the staff at Elmcroft of Maumelle for the great care that was given to their mother.
